His Health Science Foundations instructor, Ms. Keri Koehn, shared, "Jacari is always eager to learn, he jumps in and volunteers during group projects. He is well-respected by peers and instructors. His dedication and passion for healthcare shows in all of his work.” When asked why he chose this CTE program, Jacari shared, “I chose the program to hopefully get my certification and to gain background knowledge before heading to college.” During his enrollment in this program, Jacari has maintained A’s, and he has exhibited teamwork by helping his classmates when needed. Upon graduation, Jacari plans to study Surgical Technology in college and then obtain his degree in First Assistance. RIVEROAK would like to recognize Scarlett Suggs for being selected as this week's CTE Student Spotlight! Her Agriculture instructor, Mrs. Taylor Cole, shared, "Scarlett has a passion for agriculture that is unmatched. She is hardworking and dedicated to helping her chapter be the very best. She has stepped out of her comfort zone this year and has excelled in new contests which is amazing. She has grown a lot in the almost two years I have known her, and I am excited to see where her path takes her!” When asked why she chose this CTE program, Scarlett shared, “I chose agriculture because growing up, I had always heard great things about the Branford Agricultural program and wanted to experience it myself. I also have a passion for public speaking and love the opportunities this program allows me to have in that area. I have been able to improve my speaking skills during my time in the program!” Scarlett shared about her involvement with FFA: “I am currently serving as the middle school chapter Treasurer, and last year, I served as the chapter Reporter. I have competed on various contest teams such as Prepared Public Speaking, OH Demos, Parliamentary Procedure, Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and Food Science. I was 2nd high individual for the state contest in Food Science this year. My team and I also placed 1st at the subdistrict and district level for OCC, so we will be competing for the state title in June!” Upon graduation, Scarlett plans to attend the University of Florida Law School and eventually have her own law firm one day.
