Program Description
The Automotive Service Technology 1 program trains the student with the latest software, simulators, and diagnostic equipment in all phases of automotive services and electronics technologies. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on laboratory training in the troubleshooting, service and repair of automotive systems as well as a platform for continuing education or employment in a rewarding, high-wage career. The program provides comprehensive skills enhancement training in the following automotive service areas: engine repair, braking systems, suspensions/steering systems, and electrical/electronic systems. Program provides a gateway for current and qualifying future technicians with practical exercises in a wide range of electronics fundamentals as it applies to today’s technologically sophisticated simulators and vehicles featuring electronic fuel injection, computerized controlled ignitions systems, starting systems, accessory systems, anti-lock braking systems, and electronic emission control systems. This program develops a mastery of the applications of electronics through practical skills training, problem solving methods, real-time simulation and live work experience. Valid Driver’s License required for all students.
