RIVEROAK Technical College offers 20 career and technical education programs that lead to industry-recognized credentials. RTC offers high quality instruction, academic and financial advisement, mentoring, and coaching to ensure success in its programs.

RTC serves adults and dual enrolled high school students. Admission is open to adult students who are at least 16 years of age. Dual enrolled students must have a 2.0 GPA or higher for entry.

RTC provides basic skills remediation, GED® preparation, English as a Second Language classes, and community education. Continuing Workforce Education courses are available for individuals who are already employed and need technical updating or advanced training.

Students have access to personal and career counseling, financial aid, employability skills, and job placement assistance. Targeted populations, such as disabled, single parents, veterans, and academically and/or economically disadvantaged, receive support from special programs located on campus and through collaboration with Veterans Educational Benefits, Bright Futures, and local agencies including, CareerSource North Florida and Vocational Rehabilitation.

Our mission at RIVEROAK Technical College is to provide opportunities for the development of qualified workers for the job market; to upgrade occupational skills to re-enter, maintain, or advance employment opportunities; and to enable students to become self-sufficient and self-confident, and to encourage students to become highly productive citizens with positive values and a strong work ethic.

RIVEROAK Technical College

Established in 1966-67, RIVEROAK Technical College (RTC) is a postsecondary technical training and adult education institution under the authority of the Suwannee County School Board. The 20-acre campus is located in Live Oak, with easy access from U.S. Highways 129 and 90 and Interstates 75 and 10.

Basic skills remediation, GED preparation, and a high school credit program are available through the comprehensive Learning Resource Center. Continuing Workforce Education courses are available as needed to businesses and individuals who are already employed and need technical updating or advanced training. Community Education courses are also offered in the evening. Students have access to personal and career counseling, financial aid, employ-ability skills, and job placement assistance. Targeted populations, such as physically handicapped, single parents, displaced homemakers, and academically and/or economically disadvantaged, receive support from special programs located on campus and through collaborations with local agencies such as Workforce Development and WAGES.

RTC serves adults, high school students and dual enrollment students. Admission is open to adults who are at least 16 years old and not presently enrolled in a secondary school. Admission is also open to secondary students grades 9-12 as part of a regular secondary credit earning program. RTC also cooperates with private industry through continuing education programs and occupational advisory committees who are interested in the Center’s efforts to produce quality graduates.
