Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST)
Students seeking admissions to PSAV (vocational certificate) programs must take the WBST- Wonderlic Basic Skills Test
Every program has a basic academic standard that must be met to earn a certificate of completion. The academic standard is used as a guideline to determine the ability of the applicant to benefit from the technical instruction. After taking the WBST test, students complete a registration form and review their career or academic plans with the counselor. At that time, a schedule will be prepared outlining the course of study for the student. In most programs, students may begin technical instruction while also attending vocational preparatory classes to increase academic skills.
The test is $25.
Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE)
Students seeking admissions into ABE Adult Basic Education/ GED® Prep programs must take the T.A.B.E. (Test for Adult Basic Education).
The results of the TABE are used as a guideline to determine the appropriate course placement and as a guideline for individualized instruction. After taking the TABE test, students complete a registration form and review their career or academic plans with the counselor. At that time, a schedule will be prepared outlining the course of study for the student. If the student meets the requirements for the GED®i-General Education Diploma Integrated option then students may begin technical instruction while also attending ABE/GED® preparatory classes to increase academic skill proficiency and preparation to take the GED® and earn their diploma.
The test is free to prospective students.
