RIVEROAK Technical College

Established in 1966-67, RIVEROAK Technical College (RTC) is a postsecondary technical training and adult education institution under the authority of the Suwannee County School Board. The 20-acre campus is located in Live Oak, with easy access from U.S. Highways 129 and 90 and Interstates 75 and 10.

Basic skills remediation, GED preparation, and a high school credit program are available through the comprehensive Learning Resource Center. Continuing Workforce Education courses are available as needed to businesses and individuals who are already employed and need technical updating or advanced training. Community Education courses are also offered in the evening program. Students have access to personal and career counseling, financial aid, employ-ability skills, and job placement assistance. Targeted populations, such as physically handicapped, single parents, displaced homemakers, and academically and/or economically disadvantaged, receive support from special programs located on campus and through collaborations with local agencies such as Workforce Development and WAGES.

RTC serves adults, high school students and dual enrollment students. Admission is open to adults who are at least 16 years old and not presently enrolled in a secondary school. Admission is also open to secondary students grades 9-12 as part of a regular secondary credit earning program. RTC also cooperates with private industry through continuing education programs and occupational advisory committees who are interested in the Center’s efforts to produce quality graduates.

Based on 2014-15 institutional outcomes, 88% of the adult students enrolled completed their training, and 95% of the graduates were placed in related occupations.

Any academic requirement, course or program offering, business policy, fee, and/or information contained in this site is subject to change or revocation, without notice.
